Blog writing practice No.1 - November 2020;
Today it is 32° in the shade but the humidity is making it feel more like a suffocating 42° and because neither of us is overly ready for summer to arrive just yet we have chosen to huddle inside with the air-conditioner running ... we are having a lazy day - well it is Sunday!
Lunchtime arrived a short time ago & we both struggled for inspiration on what to eat - Col eventually suggested banana toasties & a cappuccino ... well yum! That started me thinking ... surely the humble sandwich maker has to be an essential item to include in our around Australia travel planning?

I have been sitting here thinking about all the amazing, inexpensive & simple meals we can have on the road with a 'toasties' maker on board & I have come up with a few favourites;
20 Gourmet Toasties Ideas;
Banana & honey toasties or alternatively try banana with Peanut Butter, Ricotta or Nutella - Yum!
Ham, cheese & tomato toasties
Spag-Bol leftover toasties
Gouda Cheese & Chili Jam toasties.
Apricot Jam with either Goats Cheese or better still with Brie & Bacon
Peanut Butter, Haloumi & honey toasties
Nutella & strawberry toasties
Chicken, chives & avocado toasties
Vegemite & cheese.
BBQ Sausage & sauce toasties.
Almond Butter & Raspberry toasties
Apple & cinnamon toasties
Sweetcorn & cheddar Toasties
Baked Bean Toasties
Egg, bacon & tomato toasties
Turkey, cranberry & Camembert toastie
Mushroom, sun dried tomato & goats cheese.
Pesto, Ham & Cheese toasties.
Chicken, mushroom , caramelized onion & mozzarella toasties
Plain cheese toasties with Tomato soup.
Tomato, mushroom & Mozzarella cheese toasties.
The list is actually endless ... toasties are especially delicious made with sliced sourdough bread (which I can't have because I'm Coeliac - but apparently it's not all about me!) ... we could literally feast on quick & easy toasties for breakfast, lunch or dinner every week on our road trip adventure - if we wanted!
Anyway - I've convinced myself ... a new 750 watt toastie maker is now on the planning list!
