We enjoyed a short but very interesting visit to McLaren Vale - it is an area that we found to be incredibly busy and expensive. We therefore decided to only spend one day exploring a few select wineries in the area and added a drive to nearby Port Willunga to our day out ... so basicly we had a really nice day digesting McLaren Vale as a small bite sized piece - photos to follow -
D'Arenberg Winery & Salvador Dali Sculpture Exhibition:
We enjoyed this truly unusual, creative & just slightly eccentric winery & exhibition - it was all that we expected + some. The Cube building was very interesting to explore as well and the excellent wine was actually an unexpected bonus.

Port Willunga & Willunga Township:
A really nice beach with old jetty ruins & historical maritime dug outs in the cliffs along the base of the beach to explore.

Willunga is a nice little township with a good glass gallery and lots of beautiful old buildings - we stopped and had a very nice lunch in the Willunga Pub beer garden.

Richard Hamilton Vinyard:
Absolutely excellent wine and a very friendly vineyard setting.
